Vice President Biden Laid Off Amid Budget Cuts

Vice President Joe Biden learned that he was being laid off in an across-the-board move aimed at cutting costs and reducing the federal budget deficit. While not a complete shock, Biden today appeared surprised today by the announcement.

President Barack Obama's unrequested letter of recommendation came as a shock to Biden this morning, who later said he learned of his firing through the letter of recommendation. That letter can be seen in full-text, completely unedited below.

Mr. Vice President,

This serves as a letter of reference for Joe Biden. Joe worked for me in the Executive Department at the government for 1 years. He began here as Senator and was promoted to Vice President.

During Joe's service with us I admired him for his many valuable qualities, and regarded him with evermore respect. Very goal oriented, Joe was always easygoing. He was very much a people person when he was in the white house or doing any official work for the American Government.

Joe demonstrated from early in his tenure that he understood what business is all about. He was well organized. Almost without exception, he put the customer first, feeling as I do that the key to good business is satisfied customers. I suppose earning big profits working from home in a private-sector business is easy if you are, as he was, driven in equal measure by both quality and efficiency.

I would like to be very clear about why Joe is no longer with us. Joe is available only because of the cost cutting occurring here. We hated to lose him, but it was unavoidable if we were going to be able to renew the registrations of all our government domain names when the come up for renewal again next year.

In closing, let me say I have no hesitation in recommending Joe Biden for any position pertaining to collections. I feel confident he would be an asset to your organization.
